Winter has a magical way of transforming our old garden into a quiet, yet vibrant wonderland. The quince flowers, popping up despite the chill, bring a burst of red and pink hues, adding a touch of warmth and color to the greyish landscape. And I especially love our feathery friends, the chirping white-eyes, also known as mejiro, in Japan. Their sweet songs fill the garden, making the quiet winter feel alive and vibrant, hinting at the springtime to follow.
Hand-printed on handmade washi paper, using woodblocks.
